@ ELWA Radio in Liberia

Alan & Cheri Shea are SIM missionaries working with ELWA Ministries in Liberia. We are supporting the work of ELWA Radio and ELWA Hospital with technical assistance in electrical and radio broadcast engineering.

Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA) Radio is Africa's oldest Christian radio station, and started broadcasting God's Good News from Liberia in 1954. ELWA Radio is heard 18 hours per day on both FM and shortwave, which covers Liberia and all three neighboring countries.

Medical ministry began in 1965 when ELWA Hospital first opened and ministers to as many as 5000 patients weekly.

Church planting began as a response to radio listener requests for local evangelism, and the SIM-related Evangelical Church of Liberia (ECOL) now numbers over 120 congregations.
